Foreign Defense Firms Seek Access to Ukraine’s Captured Weapons Database
Ukraine’s Defense Ministry has received applications from 389 foreign defense manufacturers seeking access to TrophyLab, a platform that allows approved users to examine data on captured Russian weapons and request samples for research.
Applicants must undergo checks for links to Russia, Ukrainian or international sanctions, and other eligibility requirements before receiving access.
Once approved, users can browse a catalog of captured equipment and review technical assessments online.
Researchers can also request complete samples or individual components for independent examination.
The database combines material from Ukraine’s armed forces, military intelligence, the Security Service of Ukraine, and specialist research institutions.
Kyiv said the platform is intended to help researchers exchange findings and develop countermeasures against Russian weapons.
Train AI Models on Ukrainian Battlefield Data
The announcement follows a separate initiative to make Ukrainian battlefield data available to foreign defense developers.
In September, Ukraine said the UK would become the first international partner to join Avengers Labs, a platform for training and testing AI models for unmanned systems.
Up to 12 UK-based companies will be selected through a competition led by the UK Defense Ministry’s Rapid AI Delivery task force.
Participants will run their models within the platform’s secure environment, without being able to download or directly access the underlying dataset.
Avengers Labs contains more than 5 million annotated battlefield frames, largely collected by unmanned systems through Ukraine’s DELTA combat system.
The partnership will focus on models that help unmanned systems coordinate and operate when communications or satellite navigation are disrupted.
