Norwegian Firm Builds Ballistic-Proof Command Center in Just 24 Hours
Norwegian technology firm Cyviz has launched a ballistic-proof, mobile command center designed to be quickly set up and operational anywhere.
A fully functional unit was constructed with industry partners SPIE Nederland, Capgemini, and Dujardin Remmers under a tight deadline. It was developed, presented, and tested during a 24-hour military exercise led by the Dutch Ministry of Defence.
“This is what the future of mission-ready infrastructure looks like,” said John van Laerhoven, Regional Director at Cyviz. “You don’t have time to build control rooms from scratch during an emergency.”
Meanwhile, company account executive Steijn Engelen highlighted the key strategy behind the development: “Readiness requires preconfigured systems.”
According to the company, NATO members and European civil protection agencies have already expressed interest in the solution.
Pop-Up Headquarters
The mobile command center was built inside a 14-ton transportable container resistant to machine gun fire and compatible with standard military vehicles.
Once deployed, the system offers real-time access to both classified and unclassified networks through a multi-domain control interface.
It features large-format displays, integration with Dutch military, fire, and police systems, and dynamic battlefield simulations using satellite and Google Street View imagery.
Additional components include a Boston Dynamics-made robotic dog for perimeter security and a drone detection system mounted on the roof.
At its core is Cyviz’s proprietary software platform, enabling intuitive control, dynamic source switching, and real-time situational awareness.
“This project illustrates Norway’s ability to contribute to the evolving needs of defense and civil protection in Europe,” van Laerhoven said.
“We’re proud to be shaping the future of mobile command-and-control infrastructure.”
