US Approves Sale of AIM-9X Block II Tactical Missiles to Norway

The US State Department has approved the potential $370.9-million sale of AIM-9X Block II tactical missiles to Norway.

The deal includes 300 AIM-9X Block II tactical missiles, along with training missiles, guidance units, and missile containers.

It will also provide software, training, and logistical support.

The US government emphasized that the proposed sale supports its foreign policy and national security goals by strengthening a NATO ally and promoting stability and economic progress in Europe.

Washington added that the package will enhance Norway’s ability to address current and future threats and ensure its aviation forces remain interoperable with the US and other NATO members.
