Czech Firm Picks Israeli Situational Awareness System for Pandur 8×8

Czech technology firm Retia has selected Axon Vision’s EdgeSA situational awareness system for the Pandur 8×8 EVO armored personnel carrier.

The selection followed an extensive evaluation process and is part of a broader collaboration between the firms to explore integrating modern electronic systems into other European armored vehicles.

Retia is a Czechoslovak Group subsidiary and closely cooperates with Pandur manufacturer Tatra Defence Vehicle (TDV), another Czech firm.

“Since its establishment, TDV has cooperated with Israeli companies, which enables us to offer our customers powerful and efficient armoured vehicles,” TDV CEO Tomáš Mohapl explained.

“These vehicles require high-quality electronic systems and software to operate effectively – and this applies to our latest models, the Pandur 8×8 EVO and the TADEAS 6×6.

So, we hope that our cooperation with Axon Vision will help us succeed with these vehicles on the most demanding markets.”

AI-Based Situational Awareness System

The artificial intelligence-driven EdgeSA system provides early warning of battlefield threats to the vehicle crew, enabling enhanced battlefield perception.

It fuses data from multiple sensors in real time for automatic target detection and optimizes battlefield decision-making.

The modular system can be integrated seamlessly into legacy and next-generation military systems.

“Our AI-powered situational awareness technology is redefining armored vehicle operations, delivering real-time, actionable intelligence that maximizes survivability and mission effectiveness,” CEO of Axon Vision Brigadier General (Ret.) Roy Riftin said.

“This selection highlights Axon Vision’s growing presence in the European defense market and reinforces its role as an integrator of AI-driven defense solutions.”
