Israel’s Genocide in Gaza Continued After Ceasefire, UN Finds

A UN commission has found that Israel continued to commit genocide in Gaza after the October 2025 ceasefire, as well as war crimes and crimes against humanity across the occupied Palestinian territory.

In a report to the UN General Assembly, the Independent International Commission of Inquiry said Israeli authorities and forces had deliberately targeted Palestinian civilians.

The commission found that Israeli forces continued to use airstrikes, artillery, drones, and gunfire in Gaza after the ceasefire.

These attacks killed more than 1,431 people, including at least 300 children and 130 women, and injured 5,026 others.

The commission concluded that Israeli authorities and forces continued to commit genocidal acts in Gaza with the intent to destroy Palestinians in the territory, in whole or in part.

Commission Chair Srinivasan Muralidhar said Israel’s expanding territorial control also continued to result in the killing and injury of civilians approaching or crossing the Yellow Line, which separates areas occupied by Israeli forces from parts of Gaza where much of the displaced population is confined.

Across the occupied Palestinian territory, more than 75,000 Palestinians have been killed since October 7, 2023, including at least 21,500 children and 11,000 women, Muralidhar told the UN General Assembly, according to Anadolu Agency.

West Bank Violence and Displacement

In the West Bank, the commission found that Israeli military operations and sustained settler violence formed part of a widespread and systematic attack against Palestinian civilians since October 7, 2023.

It concluded that Israeli authorities and forces had committed crimes against humanity, including extermination, persecution, torture, rape, and other forms of sexual violence.

The UN recorded 254 Palestinians killed in airstrikes in the West Bank between October 7, 2023, and September 30, 2026.

It also found that Israeli forces had deliberately killed Palestinian children and caused them serious physical and mental harm, amounting to persecution based on age.

According to the commission, 34,176 Palestinians remained displaced in the West Bank this year following Israeli military operations that began in January 2025, marking the largest displacement in the territory since Israel occupied it during the 1967 Six-Day War.
