Conti Federal to Build $55M Special Tactics Facility in Oregon

The US Army has awarded Conti Federal Services a $55.4-million contract to build a new Special Tactics Complex in Portland, Oregon.

Signed by the Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Seattle District, the infrastructure project will support efforts to optimize on-site operations of the Oregon Air National Guard’s 125th Special Tactics Squadron.

The group is responsible for organizing and preparing warfighters for unconventional warfare, combat search and rescue, close air support, reconnaissance, and disaster response.

Centralizing Workspace

According to Conti, the Portland initiative will consolidate the unit’s functions from several aging facilities, placing logistics, sustainment, training, stockpile, and support tasks in an integrated complex.

The future hub will also incorporate stations adapted for advanced simulation as well as vehicle workshops.

Ancillary spaces will be constructed for site development, utilities, parking, and facility systems.

The company is scheduled to finish the center by May 2029.

“This award reflects Conti Federal’s understanding that these facilities have to support the people who rely on them and the missions they carry out every day,” said Carina Branch, business development associate at Conti Federal.

“We are proud to partner with the USACE Seattle District and the Oregon Air National Guard to deliver a modern facility that brings critical functions together and provides the 125th Special Tactics Squadron with infrastructure built to support its mission for years to come.”

Latest Milestones

The award comes after Conti achieved breakthroughs in separate initiatives in support of the US joint forces.

In late August, the company finalized construction of an aircraft complex at FE Warren AFB in Wyoming, increasing staging areas for the US Air Force’s ongoing adoption of the MH-139 Grey Wolf helicopter and bolstering nuclear security operations in the region.

It also completed an F-35A flight simulator facility at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, Texas, while securing contracts to build a Special Operations Forces facility in Florida and execute a major overhaul at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.
