Mobix Labs has secured its first production order for components supporting the US Air Force’s F-16 Fighting Falcon fleet.
The order covers electromagnetic interference-filtered connectors produced by the company’s EMI Solutions division in Irvine, California.
Connectors serve to limit electromagnetic interference that could disrupt aircraft electronics.
These include communications, navigation, radar, electronic warfare, and weapons systems.
Mobix Labs has delivered the first components and plans to ship the remaining units in the coming weeks.
Expanding Fighter Aircraft Work
Mobix Labs’ initial F-16 order follows a fivefold increase in its component orders supporting the F-22 Raptor.
The company also supplies components used on the F-35 Lightning II and F/A-18 Super Hornet, as well as Apache helicopters, missile programs, and US Navy shipboard communications systems.
Demand for F-16 replacement components is expected to continue as the US Air Force extends the operational life of part of its fleet.
Its Service Life Extension Program increases the approved service life of modified aircraft from 8,000 to as many as 12,000 flight hours, allowing some jets to remain operational until nearly 2050.

Drone Expansion
The latest order follows Mobix Labs’ June announcement of a binding letter of intent to acquire Montana-based drone manufacturer Vision Aerial.
If completed, the acquisition would add unmanned aircraft used in defense, public safety, mapping, and industrial operations to Mobix Labs’ portfolio.
Vision Aerial’s drones can carry interchangeable payloads, including thermal cameras, laser-based mapping equipment, and gas-detection sensors.
According to the company, its customer and end-user base includes the US Air Force, US Navy, and L3Harris.
