US Military Creates Four-Star Command to Advance AI Warfare

The US military is creating a new command to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, drones, and robotics as warfare increasingly shifts toward unmanned capabilities.

Announced by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, the Autonomous Warfare Command will be led by a four-star officer.

The move reflects the Pentagon’s push to field larger numbers of lower-cost autonomous systems alongside expensive conventional weapons.
