The US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has partnered with Global Military Products (GMP) under a $19.5-million multi-award program to distribute weapons, ammunition, and personal protective equipment for US and foreign partners.
The five-year initiative enables the Florida-based company to compete for individual delivery orders.
Beyond hardware procurement encompassing small arms, mortars, anti-armor weapons, body armor, and non-standard ammunition, the contract covers program management, logistics, testing, and specialized packaging.
Announcement documents state the selected gear will help equip elite units with non-local hardware, support weapons testing, and reinforce the arsenal of contingency partner forces.
Establishing ‘Reliable Access’
GMP has long supplied foreign-made equipment, including Soviet-designed small arms, heavy machine guns, and mortars to the US Armed Forces and international customers.
Austin Gouveia, associate program manager at GMP, noted that the selection highlights the firm’s performance under a previous procurement agreement with the military, where the enterprise sourced weapons and ammunition through its global supply chain.
“Special operations forces require speed, flexibility and dependable access to equipment,” he stated.
“This award reflects Global Military Products’ commitment to providing US and allied forces with reliable access to critical defense equipment and capabilities.”
