The US Army has awarded Leidos a contract worth up to $127 million to continue supporting the Airborne Reconnaissance and Targeting Exploitation Multi-Mission Intelligence System (ARTEMIS) program.
The deal would extend the effort’s operations across the US European Command’s area of responsibility through the summer of 2027.
Work for the agreement includes an option for two additional years.
Driving ‘Timely Intelligence’
ARTEMIS provides high-altitude intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) assistance for warfighters internationally through a commissioned fixed-wing aircraft derived from the Bombardier Challenger 650 business jet.
Leidos oversees contractor-owned, contractor-operated solutions for the program, delivering the airframe, flight systems, related activities, and ancillary services.
The Virginia-based company has been engaged with the initiative since 2020, acquiring live data and relaying it across the chain of command for optimized planning and execution.
“ARTEMIS combines the flexibility of commercial aircraft with military-grade sensing to deliver timely intelligence wherever commanders need it,” said Jason McCarthy, senior vice president of airborne and mission solutions at Leidos.
“As threats continue to evolve, we’re providing the Army with a proven, rapidly deployable ISR capability that helps commanders stay ahead of the fight and make decisions with greater confidence.”
