TigerByte Cyber has raised $3 million in seed funding to scale cybersecurity technology for US satellites, aircraft, vehicles, and drones.
The development comes as the defense cybersecurity company disclosed more than $7 million in government contracts involving agencies including the US Space Force, US Navy, and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
TigerByte said it will use the funding to scale production and expand its US manufacturing capabilities.
Its technology is designed for legacy communications and navigation systems that connect to newer capabilities. TigerByte’s flagship Cyber Protection Suite uses hardware-based security measures including policy-enforced data validation, deep packet inspection, network segmentation, and post-quantum encryption.
“We founded TigerByte Cyber to bring the principles of modern cloud security to the edge, where mission-critical systems operate with limited protection and no margin for failure,” CEO Sage Secilmis said.
US Faces Increasing Cyber Risks
TigerByte’s focus comes as US agencies face cybersecurity risks created by increasingly connected aviation and space systems.
A July 2026 Government Accountability Office (GAO) report found that commercial aviation systems are increasingly exposed to cyber threats as aircraft and ground systems become more interconnected.
Identified vulnerabilities include outdated software, insecure internet-accessible systems, remote services, supply chains, and poor network segmentation. Data reviewed by the GAO showed 352 reported cyber incidents affecting the aviation subsector in 2025, up from 151 in 2024.
An earlier GAO review also found that the Pentagon recorded more than 12,000 cyber incidents from 2015 to 2021 and identified gaps in how the department managed and shared information on incidents involving the defense industrial base.
