The US Army has awarded Palantir USG a contract to produce and deliver eight Tactical Intelligence Targeting Access Node (TITAN) ground stations, moving the program beyond its prototype phase and into operational fielding.
TITAN is a crewed ground station that draws information from space-based, high-altitude, airborne, and terrestrial sensors.
The order covers four Basic and four Advanced systems.
Advanced units will provide greater data-processing and integration capacity, while the lighter Basic variant is designed for faster deployment and greater mobility.
AI and machine learning are used to process that data and generate targeting information for commanders and long-range precision-strike systems.
The platform is intended to shorten the time between detecting a potential target, analyzing the available intelligence, and passing usable information to US Army command-and-control and weapons systems.
Palantir will serve as prime contractor, overseeing production and delivering the software that powers the stations.
The systems will incorporate hardware and technologies supplied by Anduril Industries, L3Harris Technologies, Sierra Nevada Corporation, Strategic Technology Consulting and World Wide Technology.
Development of the production units will build on feedback collected from soldiers who operated earlier prototypes.
Expanding Role in US Defense Programs
The TITAN award adds to Palantir’s growing involvement in US military command systems and the defense industrial base.
Last month, Mercury Systems selected Palantir software to digitize parts of its factory operations.
The company plans to automate production planning and create a virtual model of its manufacturing network, helping it identify bottlenecks and increase output of processing systems used across US defense programs.
Earlier this year, the US Army selected Palantir’s Foundry platform for the baseline architecture of its Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) program.
Foundry will provide the cloud environment, while Anduril’s Lattice will manage the tactical data layer.
NGC2 is intended to replace fragmented command networks with a shared digital environment that links sensors, headquarters, weapons, and personnel.
