Japan is looking to put US-made AI deeper into its military decision-making, with systems from Palantir and Anduril being considered to help its Self-Defense Forces process information and act faster.
According to Nikkei Asia, Tokyo could combine the two companies’ AI systems for command-and-control (C2) operations while placing a homegrown AI platform above them to oversee their use.
Japan’s push to integrate AI into its military is part of a broader defense modernization effort as Tokyo faces growing security concerns over China, North Korea, and Russia.
