Reiser Simulation and Training has signed a contract to deliver an NH90 maintenance training rig for the German Navy.
The deal will cover the simulator’s reconfiguration into the force’s incoming NH90 military helicopter variant, the Sea Tiger, and equip it with over 1,000 standard and special procedure sessions including engine replacements and emergency rotor blade folding.
The Oberer Luessbach-based company said that work for the project already began in early November and will continue until 2026.
“This contract reflects the customer’s continued trust and satisfaction in our innovative MTR approach,” Reiser CEO Dr. Johannes Hain stated.
“With each new project, Reiser reaffirms the commitment to delivering high-quality training solutions tailored to the evolving needs of military operators worldwide.”
The contract follows another contract signed in November 2023 for the supply of its NH90 helicopter trainer to the German Armed Forces and NATO.
The Sea Tiger Helicopter
Developed by Airbus, the NH90 Sea Tiger is an anti-submarine warfare version of the NH90 NATO Frigate Helicopter designed specifically for the German Navy’s modern requirements.
The aircraft’s fuselage and main rotor diameter each measure 16 meters (52 feet). It can carry up to 20 troops, two NATO pallets, or about 4,200 kilograms (9,240 pounds) of external cargo.
Sea Tiger is powered by twin engines with approximately 2,400 horsepower each for a top speed of 300 kilometers (186 miles) per hour, a range of 1,000 kilometers (621 miles), an altitude up to 6,000 meters (19,685 feet), and an endurance of five hours.
It is armed with a cannon and rocket pod, door guns, and anti-submarine and air-to-surface missiles.
