L3Harris Opens New Location in Italy

Florida-based defense contractor L3Harris Technologies has inaugurated a new center in Rome to increase its footprint in Europe.

The site will enable further support for the Joint Airborne Multi-Mission Multi-Sensor System program under the Italian Joint Intelligence Center and Italian Air Force. The program seeks a special mission aircraft fleet for “increased interoperability” between the country’s warfighters and its American and NATO counterparts.

L3Harris wrote that the expansion will also support the firm’s collaborative and cross-disciplinary innovation projects in the region.

“It is crucial for us to strengthen our presence in Italy in order to provide greater value to our customers and to drive continued growth in the country and across Europe,” L3Harris International Vice President Dave Johnson stated.

“Our office in Rome is strategically positioned to serve as a central hub for engaging with local partners to support our expansion across the region and within NATO.”

The company appointed Tiziana Cotugno as the head executive for L3Harris Europe.

Cotugno will leverage her expertise in defense and global aerospace at the office in Rome and provide support for L3Harris’ European Advisory Board.
