BAE Systems, AMS Pledge More Artillery Support for Ukraine

BAE Systems and Dubai-based logistics group AMS Integrated Solutions have signed an agreement to provide repair and support services for Ukraine’s artillery systems.

The team will focus on the country’s medium- and large-caliber weapon systems, used by troops to counter Russia’s advances in the ongoing war.

The deal was signed during a visit to Kyiv, where AMS confirmed that it will utilize existing maintenance centers in Ukraine to collaborate with local engineers on the project.

Delivering Assistance

BAE Systems group managing director Gabby Costigan stressed the importance of getting Ukraine’s critical artillery equipment back into operational service.

“This agreement is another example of our ongoing commitment to support Ukraine, building on the establishment of a local entity earlier this year. As we move ahead, we’ll continue to explore the best ways we can help Ukraine deliver long-term national security,” she said.

The manufacturer’s presence in the country began in August following a framework agreement to locally produce and maintain military equipment.

An Ongoing Effort

BAE Systems is working with neighboring NATO countries to provide additional support, training, and repairs for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Earlier this year, a 130-million-pound ($162 million) contract was signed between the company and the UK to replenish the British Army’s ammunition stockpiles following donations to Ukraine.
