The 10-meter (33-foot) Voyager is one of three unmanned platforms designed, manufactured, and operated by Saildrone. Each of the three USV models has been developed to balance mission payload flexibility and endurance. The Voyager is specifically designed to meet maritime defense and security challenges ISR (intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance), law enforcement, drug interdiction, border and harbor security, and illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

An unmanned surface vehicle is craned aboard the Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Canberra (LCS 30), as a part of the first embarkation of the Mine Countermeasures (MCM) mission package, April 23. The MCM mission package is an integrated suite of unmanned maritime systems and sensors which locates, identifies, and destroys mines in the littorals while increasing the ship’s standoff distance from the threat area.
