Australian Army Role 2 Basic field hospital set up by the 3rd Health Battalion during Exercise Rhino Run at Cultana Training Area. *** Local Caption *** The 3rd Health Battalion deployed their Role 2 Basic into the field environment on Exercise Rhino Run 2024. The Role 2 Basic is a manoeuvrable and deployable field hospital designed to offer urgent medical care, including resuscitation, surgery and critical care post-evacuation via medics in the field. The Role 2 Basic is suitable for all shape, deter and respond operations and is able to be deployed at short notice due to its ease of movement. Exercise Rhino Run 2024 is the culminating force generation event for the 9th Brigade in 2024 involving 1st Armoured Regiment, 7th Battalion, the Royal Australian Regiment, 10th/27th Battalion, Royal South Australia Regiment, 9th Combat Service Support Battalion, Headquarters 9th Brigade personnel, and equipment external supports from 3rd Health Battalion and United States Marine Corps. The activity includes a number of carefully synchronised unit live and dry fire activities in the Cultana Training Area (CUTA) with Direct Command Units working together to deliver individual and team training outcomes through supported and supporting arrangements.
