Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF)
Also called the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Movement, an ISIS-linked militant group operating in the southern Philippines. Split from the Moro Islamic Liberation Front and formed in December 2010, BIFF seeks to establish an independent state for the Moro, the Filipino Muslim minority. BIFF carried out its first attack on August 5, 2012 in the the province of Maguindanao. In 2014 videos uploaded to YouTube showed BIFF members pledging allegience to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, but ISIS has not established an official wilayat, or province, in the Philippines.
