Ontario Tech University has qualified as a supplier of drone systems for the Canadian military, becoming the only college in the province to be part of the country’s Defence Drone Initiative (DDI) Marketplace.
The university’s capabilities include being able to test resilience to signal and navigation network jamming, evaluating autonomous systems and AI, and offer expertise in robotics, cybersecurity, and sensor testing.
This unique background could help the Canadian military evaluate how emerging technologies operate under demanding combat conditions, potentially forming a new defense and security structure for the country.
