The US Army has selected robotics company BLADE, formerly HDT Global, as one of six vendors to provide production-ready unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) for its Infantry Last Tactical Mile (ILTM) initiative.
The initiative aims to use robotic ground vehicles to move supplies and evacuate casualties along high-risk routes between rear support areas and forward troops, reducing soldiers’ exposure to direct enemy fire.
The Ohio-based firm joins American Rheinmetall, Forterra, Hendrick Motorsports, Maren-Go, and Overland AI for the ILTM effort under fixed-price prototype agreements.
