US drones could be in line for a power boost, with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) backing MagLev Aero’s effort to develop a next-generation propulsion system.
Built around an efficient architecture, the platform is designed to deliver more thrust with less power while enabling higher speeds, greater payload capacity, and a lower noise signature.
The company said these capabilities could benefit drones designed to evade detection, counter other drones, and deliver supplies.
