A South African defense firm has reworked its N-Raven loitering munition concept into a vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) drone, giving operators a reusable aircraft for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions.
The “V-Raven” platform from Midrand-based Paramount is envisioned for “realities of the modern African battlefield,” combining the concept’s origins in loitering munitions with a returnable design that can conduct repeated missions.
It carries an electro-optical sensor for all-day surveillance, while interchangeable sensor packages can support automatic target tracking.
