Canada is investing 33.5 million Canadian dollars ($23.9 million) in a sovereign military artificial intelligence ecosystem aimed at turning Canadian technology into operational capabilities.
The funding supports MAIple Stack, an initiative that brings together technologies from Canadian AI and defense companies for testing and potential use in military operations, The Globe and Mail reported.
Possible applications include analyzing data collected by drones and sensors, helping commanders make decisions faster, and creating training environments away from the battlefield.
