Tekever Wins $536M British Army Deal for AR5 Spy Drones

Tekever has been awarded a 400-million-pound ($536-million) contract to bring new spy drones into British Army service, replacing an aging system used for more than a decade.

The Lisbon-based firm’s “AR5” drone is described as a long-endurance surveillance platform capable of carrying up to 50 kilograms (110 pounds) of cameras and sensors.

Its electro-optical and infrared systems can collect, process, and transmit high-resolution video in real time, giving commanders a live view of activity across the battlefield.
