Conti Federal Services and Kight Construction Group have secured a $74.9-million contract to build a B-21 Raider Radio Frequency Hangar at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri.
The project, to be facilitated by the companies’ joint venture Conti Kight JV, marks the installation’s first infrastructure development for the incoming sixth-generation long-range strategic stealth bomber.
Awarded by the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Kansas City District, the effort features an advanced radio frequency and measurements facility equipped with a single B-21 aircraft position.
It will also cover specialized back shops, material storage, support offices, and other administrative areas required to sustain daily operations.
Whiteman, which currently hosts the Raider’s predecessor B-2 Spirit, is designated as the military’s second operational B-21 base after Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota.
Activities for the deal are scheduled to be finalized by September 2029.
Combining ‘Successful Experience’
The consortium said that the initiative will leverage Conti’s experience from the ongoing construction of an identical B-21 hangar at Ellsworth, allowing the team to apply established methods directly to the Whiteman build.
Kight supports that separate work as a local collaborator, providing military construction expertise and regional subcontractor network assistance.
