Colorado Firm to Deliver Mindset Training for US Marines

Chimney Trail Health has secured a $25-million deal to provide “evidence-based, high-performance” mindset training for US Marine Corps soldiers.

The contract will see the application of the healthcare company’s flagship “Cognitive Behavioral Training” solution, which comprises seminars on basic principles of Cognitive Behavior and Prospect Theories.

The package incorporates a mail-delivered system of “Waypoint Kits” that enables hands-on activities to extend learning opportunities for troops at their own pace.

Work for this project will run for five years and will also be offered to the servicemen’s families.

The contract will be facilitated in partnership with the Marine Corps Community Services, responsible for relaying information and resources for the force’s wellness and fitness.

‘Strategic Defense Priority’

Chimney Trail Health said that the contract will assist the US Marine Corps in bolstering the warfighters’ psychological strength and “help participants manage psychological damage before it occurs.”

Currently, among the most serious mental health issues centers on suicide, which exceeds combat deaths by more than four to one, according to the company.

Meanwhile, young adults entering the armed forces are vulnerable to psychological threats in cyberspace, while nearly 38 percent of troops avoid mental healthcare “due to stigma or career concerns.”

With the incoming training, the marines will have the option to address the crises “proactively” and further promote preventive mental healthcare as a “strategic defense priority.”

Thousands of Kits Expected

In the project’s first year, Chimney Trail Health plans to deliver approximately 26,600 Waypoint Kits to jumpstart improvements for service members.

“Today’s battles aren’t fought just on the battlefield—they start in the mind. They start with our very will to fight and win,” Chimney Trail Health CEO Matt Brown stated.

“Building mental armor is more important than building physical armor. It is key in securing the war-fighting readiness and well-being of our nation’s service members.”
