The German Navy has invited sea trial proposals for future unmanned surface vessels (USV).

The unmanned vessels, called the Future Combat Surface System (FCSS), are expected to operate both in conjunction with manned vessels and in swarms of sea drones.

They will complement, expand, and potentially replace the navy’s current fleet of K130 manned surface vessels (Corvette).
