ELTA North America has been awarded a contract to supply its Multi-Mission/Multi-Sensor Suite (M3S2) for US military combat vehicles.

The M3S2 is a key component of the Combat Vehicle Protection System, offering simultaneous active protection, counter-unmanned aerial system capabilities, and advanced ground surveillance.

By integrating cutting-edge radar and electro-optical sensors into a compact, small size, weight, and power package, the system ensures unparalleled situational awareness in diverse operational environments.

Joe Adams, CEO of ELTA North America, emphasized that the M3S2 is designed to address the evolving challenges of modern warfare.

“The M3S2 provides 360-degree tactical vehicle protection, seamlessly combining advanced sensors to counter a wide range of threats while reducing the need for multiple, standalone systems,” he explained.

While the company did not say which combat vehicles will receive the new system, it said it will significantly enhance their defense capabilities.

‘Commitment to Next-Gen Technologies’

The contract reinforces Washington’s “commitment” to leveraging next-generation technologies to boost battlefield survivability and operational effectiveness.

ELTA was previously contracted by the US Army to support the Trophy Active Protection System installed on M1 Abrams tanks.

In December 2020, it offered its On-The-Move V4 counter-drone system to the US Department of Defense to allow tactical vehicles to detect and track rogue drones.

“ELTA North America remains at the forefront of sensor innovation, delivering mission-critical solutions to the US military and allied forces worldwide,” the company noted.
