Kalyani Group, AM General Explore First Indian Artillery Export to US
India’s Kalyani Strategic Systems Ltd (KSSL) and AM General have signed a letter of intent for the supply of India-made artillery systems to the US.
The letter was signed at IDEX 2025, and paves the way for the first export of Indian artillery systems to the US, a major weapon supplier to New Delhi.
The development builds upon a previous agreement between the firms to explore the co-development and production of next-generation artillery systems.
The 2024 agreement includes mounted, towed, and ultra-light guns in both the 105mm and 155mm caliber versions.

Strategic Move
It follows an agreement on enhanced defense cooperation between the US and India during the recent bilateral meeting between US President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The potential agreement will enable India to become a manufacturing hub for global defense products, enhancing the country’s defense export potential.
