Ukraine has announced the destruction of the 10,000th Russian tank on the battlefield, marking a major milestone in the nearly three-year-long conflict.
In its latest social media update, the Ministry of Defense revealed that Ukrainian forces surpassed the 10,000 mark on February 10 amid intensifying combat operations.
This milestone represents over half of Moscow’s estimated tank inventory of 16,970 before the invasion.
A new milestone achieved.

However, open-source intelligence site Oryx reports a significantly lower figure, claiming that 3,744 Russian tanks have been neutralized, with 2,675 confirmed destroyed.
While difficult to verify independently, some Western sources consider Ukraine’s estimate reasonably accurate.
Additional Losses
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense stated that Russia has suffered more than 850,000 personnel losses since the war began in February 2022.
Recent assessments from the US Department of Defense and the UK Ministry of Defence show nearly similar counts, with casualties estimated at 700,000 and 837,000, respectively.
