Eight NATO members have deployed aircraft for the Find, Fix, Track, and Target (F2T2) exercise over Poland and the Baltic region.

The F2T2 drills aim to enhance coordination between allied forces, integrating intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance assets with strike-capable aircraft in real-time targeting exercises.

Participating nations include the US, the UK, Denmark, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, and Poland.

Participants identified and tracked potential targets and then coordinated a simulated strike within a set timeframe.

The exercise included aircraft such as the F-35 Lightning II, F-16 Fighting Falcon, and Panavia Tornado.

A KC-767 and NATO’s A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport aircraft supported aerial refueling.

“Executing these multi-domain exercises ensures NATO assets are prepared to respond to any potential threat to the Alliance,” stated General James Hecker, Commander of NATO Allied Air Command.

F2T2 is part of a broader NATO training mission across multiple domains.

“Integration exercises offer opportunities to improve military readiness, tactical proficiency, and the agility of our forces,” added Hecker.

Boosting Security on NATO’s Eastern Flank

Russia’s war in Ukraine has pushed NATO to reinforce deterrence on its eastern flank, increasing security along the borders of Baltic and Scandinavian countries.

Last month, NATO announced a Baltic Sea monitoring mission in response to recent damage to telecom and power cables, which several European nations blame on Russia.

Moscow is accused of hybrid attacks and sabotage targeting underwater infrastructure in the region.
