Red Cat Holdings has secured new contracts to provide Edge 130 Blue vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) drones for the Army National Guard and an undisclosed US government agency.

The combined orders total $518,000 for 12 Edge 130 drones.

“We are expanding our manufacturing capacity for the Edge 130 to accelerate this momentum and remain committed to supporting US government agencies with the industry’s best technology that enhances their mission capabilities and success,” said Red Cat CEO Jeff Thompson.

Features

The Edge 130 Blue is a military-grade tricopter designed for long-range mapping, inspection, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions.

The system features AI-driven surveillance and can capture high-accuracy aerial imagery with medium-range autonomy.

A single operator can assemble and hand-launch the system in one minute.

The drone weighs 2.65 pounds (1.2 kilograms) and supports a one-hour flight time in forward mode.

It reaches a maximum altitude of 12,000 feet (3,650 meters) and a cruise speed of 65 miles (100 kilometers) per hour.

The system, featuring advanced autopilot technology, helps users plan and execute missions more efficiently.

The platform transitions between multi-rotor and fixed-wing flight modes with exclusive thrust-vector control without manual input.

It includes pre-programmed mapping and mission options, allowing users to create custom missions and share real-time flight data and live video with their team.

Latest Edge 130 Blue Contracts

The Edge 130 Blue is part of a new family of drones recently launched by the Puerto Rico-based firm.

In October of last year, Red Cat Holdings secured a contract to provide 12 Edge 130 Blue systems for the Royal Australian Navy.

Earlier that same month, the company won a $1-million contract to supply the unmanned aerial systems for the US Army.
