Elbit to Supply Counter-Drone Solutions to NATO Customer

Israel-based Elbit Systems has clinched a $60-million deal to supply counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS) for an unnamed European NATO country.

Elbit will provide its ReDrone C-UAS platform, which includes the company’s advanced DAiR radar, signal intelligence (SIGINT) sensors, electronic warfare (EW) countermeasures, and electro-optical (EO) day/night payload.

As per the contract, all work will be performed over three years.

“This contract, coming amid the rising threat of unmanned aerial systems, follows a series of contracts awarded to us in the CUAS field,” said Oren Sabag, General Manager of Elbit Systems ISTAR & EW.

“We are proud that another NATO member country has chosen our solution, further demonstrating the robustness and effectiveness of our system, built on our advanced capabilities in EW, SIGINT, radar, and EO technologies.”

The ReDrone C-UAS

ReDrone is a modular multi-mission system that can detect, identify, locate, track, and counter multiple adversarial drones simultaneously.

As a multi-sensor platform that offers advanced capabilities beyond typical sensor technologies, it can quickly identify and pinpoint the location of drones in various weather conditions and environments day and night.

Additionally, it can operate across various drone communication channels, and includes advanced command, control, communications, computer, and intelligence capabilities.

The ReDrone can be set up as stationary or mobile, with the latter configuration allowing it to be mounted on vehicles for enhanced operational flexibility.

A single operator can install the C-UAS platform in less than 20 minutes, as per the company’s product page.

In August 2023, the Netherlands ordered the ReDrone system under a $55-million contract.
