BAE Systems Hagglunds has contracted Swedish cybersecurity firm Clavister to provide cyber protection for the CV90 infantry fighting vehicles of two undisclosed European countries.

One of the customers is a Scandinavian country and the other is from Eastern Europe.

The 53-million Swedish krona ($4.82 million) contract will see the delivery of an integrated defense cybersecurity system for the pan-European platform, including the Clavister RSG-400 security gateway and RSW-400 secure network switch.

Delivery will be over three years, starting in the second half of 2025.

The latest version of the CV90 is a highly digitized platform, requiring the integrated defensce cybersecurity system to protect the vehicle and its crew from sophisticated cyber attacks.

The RSG-400 filters out unwanted users, systems, or protocols while enhancing the resilience of the vehicle’s onboard network infrastructure, which enables the management of the vehicle’s many systems – such as weapons, battle command systems, and engine control.

Both the ruggedized product modules are capable of withstanding extreme environmental conditions and significant physical attacks.

“The CV90 continues to prove its superiority with existing and new nations voting for the platform,” Clavister CEO John Vestberg said.

“With strong cyber-defence capabilities, the CV90 is designed to meet a highly versatile enemy on the battlefield.”
