Israel Defense Forces to Receive ‘Thousands’ of Communication Systems From Elbit

Elbit Systems has signed a $130-million contract to supply “thousands” of advanced communication systems for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

The deal covers the company’s proprietary software-defined radio family, satellite communication systems, and data-links for autonomous platforms.

The project also requests Elbit to expand 24/7 regional maintenance centers to continue support for combat units.

Elbit noted that the contract supports Tel Aviv’s broader vision to maintain the IDF’s current and future requirements while retaining the country’s manufacturing independence and growth in local production lines.

“As a key partner in the IDF’s digital maneuver effort, we take pride in delivering the most advanced and secure tactical communication systems to forces in the field,” Elbit Systems C4I & Cyber General Manager Haim Delmar stated.

“These systems serve as the foundation of a digital army, utilizing a dynamic, intelligent, and cognitive network to enable multi-domain connectivity and operational superiority.”

“Our technology provides real-time situational awareness, ensures information availability, and delivers precision and adaptability in complex and rapidly evolving battlefields.”
