The Indian Army has inducted the indigenously developed “Sabal 20” unmanned helicopter to bolster its logistics capabilities in challenging terrain.
Designed by Uttar Pradesh-based EndureAir Systems, the logistics drone boasts a payload capacity of 20 kilograms (44 pounds), or about half its own weight.
It is capable of carrying a wide range of supplies, including medical kits, ammunition, batteries, and small arms, to distances of over 10 kilometers (6.2 miles).
Something extraordinary is taking shape at EndureAir.

The drone has been specially engineered to endure high-altitude conditions, making it well-suited for India’s Eastern theater of operations where it will be deployed.
Its low acoustic signature also makes it ideal for sensitive missions, including operations along the Line of Actual Control bordering China.
Sleek Design
One of the most notable features of the Sabal 20 is its sleek design, which was inspired by Boeing’s Chinook helicopter.
The drone has tandem rotors at both ends, providing increased lift capacity, maneuverability, and stability.
Its frame looks like a miniaturized version of the Chinook, with its payload mounted externally rather than inside the body.
According to EndureAir Systems, the Sabal 20 has a maximum speed of 50 kilometers (31 miles) per hour and a flight endurance of 40 minutes.
It is also fitted with an electro-optical/infrared camera to support surveillance and reconnaissance missions.
“With its fully autonomous capabilities and unmatched stability, the Sabal 20 is setting a new standard for modern military logistics delivery,” the company stated.
