Sweden has contracted KNDS Deutschland to provide three CV9040D infantry fighting vehicle training simulators.
The simulators will represent the combat support vehicles within tank companies, featuring Leopard 2 main battle tanks.
It consists of a cabin for the driver, turret crew, and infantry squad, allowing the training of the entire crew simultaneously.
Also included is the Swedish command and information system for realistic operational scenarios.
Integration With Leopard 2 Simulators
The simulators will be integrated into the Leopard 2 main battle tank simulators, 18 of which were ordered in January this year.
“This will enable joint, fully networked training of main battle tanks and infantry fighting vehicles at company or battalion level for the first time,” KNDS stated.
The integration will improve interoperability and coordination among the Swedish Army’s mechanized units.
The CV90 simulators will be delivered in 2028, while those for the Leopard 2s are expected to arrive a year later.
