Saab has unveiled a new virtual training solution designed for its full range of weapon systems, including the Carl-Gustaf M4 recoilless rifle, the AT4 anti-tank weapon, and the Next-generation Light Anti-tank Weapon.
The Ground Combat Indoor Trainer (GCIT) is described as a cost-effective training tool that prepares soldiers for the use of Saab’s ground combat weapons.
It incorporates advanced technologies to deliver highly realistic training experiences.
“By delivering outstanding realism beyond anything else on the market, we are making soldiers confident and ready for any challenge,” Saab’s Training & Simulation business head Joakim Alhbin said.
The GCIT will be showcased for the first time at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference in Orlando this week.
Collective and Individual Training
According to Saab, the new GCIT offers one of the most complete and effective training solutions for ground combat forces.
It is designed to enhance how soldiers prepare for combat, boosting their confidence in successfully executing missions.
The system is available for individual and collective training, allowing for both solo skill development and team-based exercises.
It can also be reconfigured for other weapon types, such as small arms.
