Milrem Robotics, Texelis Partner to Develop Next-Gen Robotic Combat Vehicle
Estonia-based Milrem Robotics has chosen French manufacturer Texelis to supply mobility subsystems for its upcoming next-generation robotic combat vehicles (RCVs).
The modular, scalable, and mission-flexible 12-ton-plus RCVs will be supplied with Texelis’ high-performance electrified tank drivetrain, which enables them to operate in challenging terrain with advanced endurance and maneuverability.
“Selecting Texelis as our strategic supplier of mobility subsystems is a crucial step in developing our next-generation robotic combat vehicles,” said Kuldar Väärsi, CEO of Milrem Robotics.
“Their proven expertise in delivering advanced mobility systems will ensure our platforms are unmatched in their ability to traverse complex terrains and operate in the most challenging battlefield scenarios.”
Väärsi noted that Milrem’s existing cooperation with the French defense industry will be further enhanced by this partnership.
Texelis CEO Jean Vandel shared that they are thrilled to be selected as the partner of “the undisputed world leader in robotics and autonomous solutions.”
“Working on their new generation of combat systems is a fantastic opportunity for us to keep growing as a partner of choice for mobility. Getting aboard is a huge strategic step to see us getting into the tracked vehicle market, a new universe to add to our core expertise. Alongside a customer like Milrem, mobility has no limit!”
European Defense
This recent collaboration supports Europe’s broader defense objectives.
Texelis is known for providing mobility solutions for land vehicles, such as in the French Army’s SERVAL light multi-role armored vehicle.
Meanwhile, Milrem opened a Tracked Hybrid Modular Infantry System production facility in Estonia, providing armed unmanned ground vehicles.
In July, the company launched a ground robotics facility in Poland to further extend its autonomous solutions in Europe.
