The US Army has awarded Conti Federal an $8.2-million design-build task order for the repair and renovation of the Special Operations Forces Barracks in Baumholder, Germany.
The site will be modified to improve the living conditions of personnel who will be relocated from the US Army Garrison Stuttgart to Baumholder’s Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz. It is part of the Pentagon’s larger investment to expand accommodations for American warfighters across Europe.
Work includes repair, alterations, and upgrades of existing divisions to comply with the military’s new occupant standards and functional requirements.
The infrastructure project is expected to “create a more livable space” for the special operation units assigned to the region once completed by October 2026.
“We are always proud of the work we do, but it’s especially significant when we have the opportunity to support a mission in multiple capacities,” Conti Federal Europe Middle East Business Development VP Michael Prudente stated.
“This project marks our second on base in support of our nation’s Special Operations Forces. We are already on-site constructing Secure Site Annexes, which will support this elite group in their operational duties whereas this new contract will support them in their housing arrangements.”
Conti received an associated contract worth $65.8 million four months earlier for the construction of secure site annexes at Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz.
Groundbreaking of the primary accommodation building was conducted in September.
