Babcock has signed a deal to continue technical support services for the British Armed Forces for two years.

The full-service agreement will extend the provision of the company’s expertise in aiding safe and cost-effective aircraft sustainment, general engineering, training programs, and logistics support across multiple UK military sites.

Babcock noted that the deal will enhance the readiness of covered capabilities “wherever, whenever, and however” the users require them.

About 16 stations of the Royal Air Force (RAF) Joint Aviation Command and Strategic Command will receive assistance stipulated by the critical services package contract.

“We continue to be by our customer’s side, enabling them to fulfil their duty, whether that’s through engineering excellence or managing logistics and complex supply chains,” Babcock UK Aviation Managing Director Chloe Barker stated.

“We’re pleased to be continuing to deliver this large-scale technical support service as a key partner to the RAF, delivering an excellent integrated service capability.”

The London-based company accepted the first three contracts to deliver comprehensive technical support services for the British forces in 2017.

Recent UK Defense Assistance Projects

Babcock’s latest deal follows an award in March 2024 to upgrade the Royal Navy’s HMS Victorious Vanguard-class ballistic missile submarine.

In February, the firm agreed to deliver technical and trade proficiency courses for the British Army’s armored vehicle teams. A separate, five-year contract was confirmed for in-service the same month to support the navy’s Ships Protective Systems, which protect surface fleets from magnetic mines at sea.

In 2023, Babcock partnered with Northhampton-based Cosworth to research hybrid engine options for the British Army’s land-based tactical vehicles.
