Anduril Industries has secured a $249.9-million contract to provide counter-unmanned aerial systems to the US military.
The deal includes 500 of the company’s proprietary Roadrunner ground-based weapons in their high-explosive interceptor variants.
American warfighters will also receive an undisclosed quantity of Anduril’s Pulsar software-defined electromagnetic warfare solution.
Once delivered, the package will be deployed in “priority regions” where “significant” drone threats against US forces are prevalent.
Anduril’s Roadrunner and Pulsar
The Roadrunner is a vertical takeoff and landing-capable munition unveiled last year to help users rapidly destroy large drone targets.
The weapon automatically deploys in seconds from a specialized mobile box called “Nest,” enabling subsonic flights against potential threats.
Meanwhile, the Pulsar is a 360-degree electronic protection suite powered by networked controls and artificial intelligence.
The technology offers directional detection and denial, is compatible with NATO-standard vehicle mounts, and comes in both manned and unmanned aircraft payload configurations.
Recent Drone Countermeasure Contracts
Andruil signed a $1-billion contract in July 2022 to “deliver, advance, and sustain” layered counter-drone solutions for US Special Operations Command.
A year earlier, the company received $99 million for the supply, installation, and management of similar solutions for various US military services.
