Hensoldt Launches AI-Enabled ARGOS-15 Airborne Targeting System

Hensoldt has unveiled the latest evolution of its renowned ARGOS family of airborne surveillance and imaging systems: the ARGOS-15.

Presented at the Africa Aerospace and Defence Expo 2024, the 15-inch gimbal system is designed to monitor infrastructure, troop movements, and targets from the sky.

It delivers high-quality imagery even in the worst lighting conditions and most challenging operational environments.

With its 4-axis stabilization architecture, the ARGOS-15 ensures reliable performance during long-range missions.

It can be integrated into both manned and unmanned airborne platforms and operate at altitudes of up to 50,000 feet (15,250 meters).

Once deployed, the system promises unparalleled performance in support of military intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance (ISTAR) operations.

AI-Enabled

The ARGOS-15 features an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered object detection, classification, and tracking system, allowing operators to effortlessly spot targets.

It also reduces workload and improves mission efficiency.

The AI also facilitates real-time data processing and rapid decision-making in dynamic environments.

Additionally, the new imaging system is equipped with a comprehensive laser suite for precise ISTAR capabilities.

“With the launch of the ARGOS-15, we are reinforcing our position as a leading provider of airborne imaging technologies,” Hensoldt’s head of sales Sunette van Rensburg noted.

“This system’s superior capabilities will ensure that our customers remain at the forefront of modern surveillance and reconnaissance missions.”
