The US Army has awarded General Dynamics Land Systems a $103.6-million contract to assist in the initial fielding of the service’s new M10 Booker armored fighting vehicles.
Under the agreement, the company will deliver tools and equipment to ensure the fleet’s operability upon deployment.
The firm will perform associated tasks under a “firm-fixed-price” framework until September 2029, with locations and funding to be specified upon each order.
Mobile Protected Firepower System
The M10 Booker was integrated into the US Army as part of the Pentagon’s Mobile Protected Firepower (MPF) program.
The initiative sought a next-generation combat vehicle that could simultaneously provide mobile protection and enhanced offensive firepower.
In 2022, M10 developer General Dynamics landed a contract worth up to $1.14 billion for the platform’s production. The army then revealed large orders for the vehicles in 2023 and 2024.
Last April, the company delivered the army’s first M10 at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland.
The M10 Booker
General Dynamics’ M10 Booker is equipped with an M35 105-millimeter low recoil tank gun and a Browning heavy machine gun.
It is powered by an Allison 3040 MX cross-drive transmission and an MTU 800-horsepower diesel engine for a maximum speed of 45 miles (72 kilometers) per hour and a range of 350 miles (563 kilometers).
