Teledyne FLIR has secured contracts worth $47 million to maintain its unmanned ground system products in the US military and federal government agencies.
Valued at $32 million, the first deal covers sustainment care services for the Man-Transportable Robotic System and Common Robotic Systems-Heavy platforms.
FLIR will also provide spare parts in addition to the repair works.
Associated works will be administered in partnership with the US Army’s Michigan-based Robot Logistics Support Center for three years and a two-year additional option.
The US federal agencies contract, worth $15 million, encompasses the SUGV 310, Kobra 725, FirstLook, and PackBot robotic systems as well as their corresponding parts and training for operational and foreign military sales programs.
Tasks for this deal will also run for up to five years.
“These new funding vehicles are critically important in maintaining both [Department of Defense] and Federal government readiness to address threats solved with the help of ground robots,” Teledyne FLIR Defense Unmanned Systems North America VP Tung Ng stated.
“Whatever the job may be, our men and women in uniform know they can depend on all our robotic platforms to help them perform missions more safely and effectively. We are honored by their trust.”
Continuous Autonomous Systems Support for US
FLIR’s latest contracts follow a $93.9-million award in July 2023 for the supply of its Black Hornet 3 nano drones for the US Army.
One month earlier, the company achieved a milestone on its unmanned systems business by delivering the 1,000th Centaur ground vehicle to US warfighters.
