Germany’s armament procurement agency has ordered “Dynahawk” fire control sights (FLV) from Hensoldt for the German Armed Forces.
The number of sights in the multi-million-euro contract has not been disclosed, with delivery scheduled for this year and next, with an option to extend it to 2026.
“With the ‘Dynahawk’, we are significantly increasing the first-hit probability on dynamic and distant targets of the deployed anti-tank weapons,” Hensoldt sales manager Josef Reif said.
“Thanks to the FLV in conjunction with the Hensoldt IRV-MR night vision attachment, we can also guarantee operational capability at night.”
The Dynahawk
The Dynahawk is designed to enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of the German Army’s anti-tank weapons, featuring a magnification of 5.5 times and a laser rangefinder to determine an object’s distance.
Its multi-mode ballistics computer can engage both static and dynamic targets and is equipped with temperature, air pressure, and angular rate sensors for environmental perception.
Additionally, it “automatically recognizes the loaded ammunition and calculates the corresponding ballistics.”
The equipment is programmable to choose the firing point, enabling the deployment of ammunition such as air-burst rounds with precision.
Moreover, it is compatible with the German Army’s two key anti-tank weapons: the operational Wirkmittel 90 (DND RGW90) and the recently acquired Leichte Wirkmittel 1800+ (MBDA Enforcer) shoulder-fired missile systems.
