Ukrainian Armor has delivered the second batch of Novator-2 armored personnel carriers to the National Guard of Ukraine.
It comes days after the first batch was delivered in July. The vehicles feature electronic warfare systems to counter remote-controlled explosive platforms such as first-person view drones.
Ukrainian company Kvertus provided electronic warfare equipment for the vehicle, called the Kraken counter FPV F3 M50 system.
“The National Guard command set us a task to rapidly equip our armored vehicles with electronic warfare devices designed to detect and neutralize radio-controlled explosive devices, [such as] FPV drones [and] small ground drones,” Ukrainian Armor Deputy Director General Mykola Kuzma said.
“Together with a domestic developer of electronic warfare devices, we found the best option in terms of cost, quality and delivery terms, and implemented it in these vehicles.”
The Novator 2
Kyiv-based Ukrainian Armor developed the multipurpose vehicle during the ongoing war, taking into account the user experiences of the base Novator vehicle.
The 4×4 Novator has been operational with the Ukrainian Armed Forces since 2018. Its updated version features improved mine protection, suspension, and control system.
“Ukrainian Armor is constantly working to improve our vehicles. We collect analytics from various government customers and users and take it into account when working on improvements. The development process is ongoing,” Kuzma added.
