QinetiQ to Deliver Aerial Training Services to German Military

UK-based QinetiQ Group has clinched a 284-million-euro ($311 million) deal to deliver Aerial Training Services to the German Armed Forces.

A range of tailored services will be provided under the 10-year contract, including joint terminal attack controller, red air, close air support, maritime air operations, ground control intercept, air traffic control, and target towing for ground based air defense systems.

The German Air Force, Army, Navy, and Special Forces will benefit from the services, with an optional extension of two years.

Deliveries Through Pilatus Fleet

Deliveries will be made through QinetiQ’s newly enhanced fleet of eleven PC-9 and four PC-12 turboprop-powered aircraft.

“In the current heightened threat environment, the award of the Aerial Training Services contract demonstrates QinetiQ’s commitment to ensuring the German Armed Forces are always operationally ready for their missions,” QinetiQ’s Group Chief Executive Officer Steve Wadey said.

“The contract will form a crucial part of our Global Threat Representation offering across all domains. We are very proud of our highly skilled employees who will deliver thousands of flight hours of training per year for our customer.”
