Lockheed Martin has requested a trio of Spanish firms supply AN/SPY-7(V)2 radar components for the F-110 frigate fleet being developed for the Spanish Navy.
The purchase order expands Lockheed’s international supply chain and integrates Spanish firms into the global SPY-7 supply chain, augmenting production capacity.

“These strategic collaborations empower local industries, strengthen communities, and drive economic growth, all while providing the most advanced defense capabilities for 21st century security,” vice president of multi-domain combat solutions at Lockheed Martin Amr Hussein said.
“By incorporating Spanish industry into radar production, we are committing to diversify our supply chain and add capacity that enhances our global supply chain.”
The Spanish firms contracted are Indra, Escribano Mechanical and Engineering, and ICM (Integral de Conexión y Montajes, S.L.).
The F-110 frigate
Lockheed has been contracted to fit the SPY-7 live tracking radar onto the fleet of five F-110 multi-purpose, anti-submarine frigates set to be commissioned from 2028.
Spanish state-owned shipbuilding company Navantia is building the vessels, equipped with the Scomba combat system, a Spanish version of the American Aegis.
In March, Navantia and Lockheed extended their 27-year-long naval combat systems collaboration for three more years.
